The administration funds 77 projects to improve water systems and address climate issues.
The Department of the Interior recently announced an $849 million investment under the Investing in America agenda to modernize water delivery systems across 11 western states. The funding will support 77 projects designed to improve water storage, conveyance, hydropower generation, and treatment facilities, with $118.3 million allocated to 14 projects in the Colorado River Basin.
The initiative is part of the administration’s efforts to address drought and climate change impacts and ensure sustainable water supplies for families, farmers, and Tribal communities.
“As we work to address record drought and changing climate conditions in the Colorado River Basin and throughout the West, these investments in our aging water infrastructure will conserve community water supplies and revitalize water delivery systems,” said Acting Deputy Secretary Laura Daniel-Davis.
The investments are being made under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act. Over 577 projects have been funded in the Colorado River Basin.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Deputy Secretary Daniel-Davis to be led by the Lord as she fulfills her role in the Interior Department.
- For wisdom for Secretary Haaland as she oversees the programs to address water management in the Colorado River Basin.
